1921 Clontibret IRA

The following is a list, from Military Archives (Military Archives.ie/collections) of the membership of Clontibret IRA in July 1921, compiled in 1938 and authenticated by Dr Conn Ward, Brigade Chairman.

This is a call to anyone interested in contributing to the compilaton of as full as possible a record of these members and their activies during the War of Independence.

At this time, 100 years on from the Truce of July 1921, there are many descendants and relatives who have memories, stories and memorabilia, which, though they seem trivial, are an important part or our history and may be on the edge of disappearing forever.

Any information either documentary or family folklore on the members themselves, their involvement in activities during the war of independence and afterwards (award of medals, pensions etc) would be if interest.
